Haridwar, Nov 24 (PTI) Protesting against the Centre's indifferent attitude towards its demand of allocating quota of foodgrains for pilgrims coming for Mahakumbh Mela, scheduled to be held early next year here, two Uttarakhand ministers today observed fast.
Alleging that the Centre is not paying attention to their demand of allocating quota for foodgrains especially in view of the coming Mahakumbh Mela, Food and Civil Supplies minister Diwakar Bhatt and Urban Development minister Madan Kaushik observed fast at Harki Pauri area here.
The Centre's indifferent attitude towards demand of the state government shows that it is anti-people, the ministers said.
Meanwhile, Uttarakhand government has extended the date of completion of construction work of permanent nature like roads and flyovers by two months to Dec 31 this year.
