Dehradun, Apr 11 (PTI) The Uttarakhand Electricity Regulatory Commission (UERC) today raised domestic and industrial tariffs by three to nine per cent for consumption levels above 100 units of power.

Most of the domestic consumers would not be affected by the raise since 80 per cent of them use less than 100 units.

Under the new tariff order for 2010-11, the UERC increased tariffs for domestic consumers by five to nine per cent in certain catagory.

Consumers using upto 200 units of power would have to dole out five per cent extra charges on the existing tariff of Rs 440 per month.

Similarly, those using more than 300 units of power should shell out nine per cent extra tariff on exising rate of Rs 660, a press release said.

Significantly, there has been no increase in tariffs for BPL catagory and people living in snow-bound areas.
