Dehra Dun, Jun 6 (PTI) Uttarakhand Governor Margaret Alva today called for conservation of biodiversity to fight the ill effects of climate change and for sustainable development.
"Biodiversity is crucial for water and climate change.
The conservation of biodiversity is essential for maintaining the equilibrium of climatic factors which are affecting us everyday," Alva said while releasing a book "Biodiversity Potential of the Himalayas" in the hill resort of Nainital.
The book contains 27 research papers on biodiversity of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, western Himalayas and eastern Himalayas.
