The Planning Commission has approved Rs. 6,800 crore annual plan outlay for Uttarakhand. This is for the financial year 2010-11.
A meeting was held in between the Commission's Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia and Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Ramesh Pokhriyal.
After the meeting, the Planning Commission has decided to approve the outlay. After the meeting, this has been informed in a statement.
The State has managed to successfully conduct the Maha Kumbh Mela successfully in this year.
After this grand event, the river Ganga and Haridwar city need to be restored properly. Mr. Ahluwalia has said that the state government needs to cover their plans soon for the betterment of the river and the holy city.
The restoration need to be continued. He has also said that The Centre and State have to work together to execute some of the plans related to the river Ganga.
As per Ahluwalia the on-going projects of the Ganga Action Plan need to be taken care of by both the State and the Central government.
