Dehra Dun, Jun 16 (PTI) Uttarakhand government would set up a world class institute for promoting cow science and facilitating research on related subjects, especially cow urine which is known to have many medicinal values.
Briefing reporters after a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank, Chief Secretary N S Napalchyal said the "Cow Science and Technology Institute" would be developed in PPP mode in Pashulok area of Rishikesh town.
The government would provide 20 acres of land to a private player, to be chosen on the basis of the competitive bids, to set up the institute, he said, adding the process of inviting bids would be initiated within the next 15 days.
The institute would facilitate research on various subjects related to bovines, especially the medicinal value of its urine and would also produce 10,000 litres of distilled concentrate of cow urine per day, Napalchyal said.
