Heavy downpours and landslides triggered by sudden violent rainstorm wreaked havoc in India's Uttarakhand state on Thursday.
More than 50 houses and a school were badly damaged in the village of Matak Majari.
Roads in the area were swept away and a bus fell into a gorge near the village. While no casualties have been reported, unconfirmed media reports suggest many people have been injured.
Slush of mud and debris entered several houses within a short time, giving no opportunity for villagers to save their belongings.
