Woman, three daughters jump into swollen river

Uttarkashi (Uttarakhand), Aug 2 (PTI) A woman and her three daughters went missing after they jumped into swollen Bhagirathi river at Maneri area, 20 kms from here, police said. Rupa Devi and her daughters Shanti (6), Mala (4) and Madhu (2) went missing soon after they jumped into the river, Superintendent of Police Arun Mohan Joshi told PTI. Some people, who witnessed the incident, informed the police. Soon, a search operation was launched. The exact cause of the suicide attempt is yet to the ascertained, he said.
