Heavy rain in Uttarakhand, tourists stuck for 2 weeks

Almora: Heavy rain in parts of Uttarakhand for the last few weeks has washed away several roads and flooded the Kosi river, leading to widespread damage and great inconvenience.

More than 700 km of roads have been damaged in the state. As a result, around 300 tourists are stranded for nearly two weeks and 200 vehicles are stuck.

The Kotdwar Pauri Delhi National Highway is closed. Road repairs are progressing very slowly, with few men and machines to speed up work.
