Dehra Dun, Mar 14 (PTI) Uttarakhand Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank today came down heavily on the Congress for disrupting the address of Governor Margaret Alva on first day of budget session terming their conduct as "unfortunate". "The address of the Governor includes various points and schemes meant for development and welfare of the state but Congress started its opposition without listening to it, which is certainly not in accordance with the established traditions of parliamentary democracy," Nishank told reporters. "The house is the best place for raising the issues related to the people and holding healthy discussions on them, but it seems Congress believes in creating disturbance and noise in the house and wants to draw the attention of the public by staging dharna and rallies on the roads," he said. The Chief Minister said "the conduct of the Congress was so unfortunate that even the Governor had to make a comment in the house that she is thankful that mikes were not thrown on her as it happens in other state assemblies". He also said that the government is ready to give answer to every question of the opposition raised in the house. Reacting on dharna by Congress MLA from Tehri in the house, Nishank said if all the MLAs would start staging the protest in support of demands of their respective areas in Vidhan Sabha, it will be very difficult to follow democratic values. However, he said any MLA is free to raise the issues and problems related to his own area but it should be done in a dignified way.
