UJVNL plant at Tiloth records highest output

Dehradun, March 19 -- Among all the hydel power projects being undertaken by Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited (UJVNL), the Tiloth hydro-project has generated 488.760 mu of electricity which is believed to be a new record since inception. Earlier, the project generated 488.516 mu of electricity in 2003-04. As per the latest data compiled by UJVNL, it has generated 480.608 mu of electricity against the set target of 480 mu of electricity last week.

The hydel power project has been successfully functioning on the river Bhagirathi since 1984. It is noteworthy that most of projects have achieved the target. After confirming about the record generation at Tiloth hydro-power project, GP Patel said that stern instructions have been released to officials on regular basis to remove technical snags at plants and to upgrade plants for optimum generation. He said that most of the hydro-power projects being undertaken by UJVNL have been generating electricity at optimum leve.
