Dwarahat

Situated in a beautiful natural set up, Dwarahat is one of the best places to visit in Uttarakhand. Mostly popular among the regular tourists as a significant sightseeing location, Dwarahat has a group of 55 temples which were mostly built by the Katyuri Kings. Paban Maharaja Ashram or Durga Temple is located at high altitude and one has to climb 500 steps to reach atop the hill. The view of the Himalayan peaks and the surrounding vicinity of Almora, Ranikhet and Kasauni are amazing. A couple of fairs are also organized in Dwarahat. Syalde Bikhauti Mela is celebrated on Vishuwat Sankranti Day and dance and music play a major role in this fair.
