Micholi Uttarakhand

Micholi is a place situated in Almora district of Uttarakhand, amid the Himalayan range. It is around 347 km away from Delhi, the capital of India and lies in between Ranikhet and Jim Corbett National Park. Almora is famous for its rich heritage, culture, artefacts, traditional cuisine, folk music and dance, wildlife and natural landscape. The majestic Himalayas are a splendid spectacle to witness, covered with dense forest. With such a beautiful and spectacular atmosphere, it has been attracting tourists from various parts of the world. Micholi, situated 6000 feet above the sea level, has not been yet exploited by extreme tourism or population. The natural beauty and forests are still unexplored. The hill station is situated between the river Kosi and river Suyal. It is the new and unexplored destination intact with its untouched forests and natural habitat for numerous flora & fauna.

Hill stations have always been connected with well being and health benefits due to their elevated heights which prove to be a great relief to the respiratory disease prone patients and people with other ailments as well. The winding paths, the tiled roofed houses, the high altitude and the cultural richness make it an attractive destination for the adventure lovers, travel freaks and peace seekers. It has been one of the favourite places of Swami Vivekananda and he wished that peace seekers should come to this hill station to achieve the ultimate inner peace and relief. Even Mahatma Gandhi described it as an ultimate destination.

The snowy Himalayan peaks are a treat to the eyes and refreshes the mind. Famous Maya Bhona Devi Temple, which is more than 160 years old, is a renowned spiritual destination in Micholi. Nanda Devi and Trishul are the famous peaks which could be viewed from here. This place will provide inherent peace to the body and soul away from the maddening crowd of the cities.
