Investments almost doubled during BJP govt: Nishank

Dehra Dun, June 26 (PTI) Claiming that Uttarakhand is rapidly moving on the path of development, Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank today said investments almost doubled during the first three years of the BJP government as compared to the previous regime.

"During the first three years of the BJP government, the industrial investment was Rs 17,566.21 crore against Rs 8,195.71 crore during the full five years of the Congress government," he told reporters on the eve of completion of one year in office.

He said the revenue during the BJP government climbed to Rs 11,312.30 crore against Rs 10,639.97 crore in the previous regime headed by N D Tiwari.

Nishank said the Congress government could provide employment to only 72,883 people during its tenure compared to 91,443 which BJP provided in the first three years in power.
